Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Tudu did his MBBS from Darbhanga Medical College, Laheriasarai, Darbhanga (Bihar) affiliated to the then Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Kameshwar Nagar, Darbhanga of state of Bihar. Presently affiliation of the Medical College has shifted to Aryabhatt Knowledge University, Patna (Bihar).
After his graduation he joined Central Health Services (Government of India) for a brief instint as a Medical Officer In-Charge of a Static Dispensary under Ministry of Labour. He was also selected and recommended by UPSC for the posts of General Duty Medical Officer in Municipal Corporation of Delhi & Indian Ordinance Factories. He later joined as Postgraduate in the Department of Physiology of his parent Medical College itself and completed his MD (Physiology). His thesis work for MD (Physiology) was on outcome of labour in relation to Maternal and Umbilical Cord Blood Glucose Levels under expert guidance of Associate Professor Dr. R. N. Singh.
Later he joined MS (Surgery) in the same Medical College to complete the same. He submitted his doctoral thesis titled "Study on role of Ampicillin, Gentamycin & Metronidazole combination in comparison to Cefotaxime alone in consevative management of Acute Cholecystitis” under the expert supervision of Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery, Dr. P. S. K. Sahay.
After finishing his MS he joined as Senior Resident in the Department of Surgery, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. On being selected by UPSC, he was recommended for the Post of Assistant Professor of Surgery. He could join the post in Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi only after a gap of two years, while his counter-parts in the Department as well as in other Departments joined CHS (Taching Cadre) in the year of UPSC recommendation itself.
He continued in Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor (2001) and Professor till 2015. He was transferred by the Government of India to Maulana Azad Medical College on his request in the year 2015. After a few months of service in MAMC, he was ascended to the post of Head of the Department to his utmost surprise. He is young, energetic, courageous, law-abiding, humble, gentle, compassionate, considerate and very helpful to all his collaegue and sub-ordinates. He is keenly interested in teaching with the aim of understanding the students’ need and encouraging them to developing keen interest in acquiring knowledge and skill methodically, gradually and continuosly !
Soon after taking over the office of Head of the Department of Surgery, he secured good support of his senior as well as junior collaegue, so much so that in his able leadership the MAMC Surgery Update 2015 could be successfully organized, inpite of a brief period of confusion and doubt, with very close and unconditional support of Director Professor Dr. Anil Kumar Sarda.
He has won hearts of all the faculty members within no time. He has been admiring great unconditional unrestricted support of Director Professor Dr. R. K. Jindal in all his departmental newer administrative initiatives.
