Dr. Vinod Kumar Ramteke joined Department of Surgery, Maulana Azad Medical College, in year 1991 and became Head of Department in year 1994 till year 2013 when he was transferred to Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, thus becoming the longest serving Head of Department of surgery -  Maulana Azad Medical College, remaining in chair for 18 years as head of Department of Surgery.

-Equipping : Got Renovation of major OT with CCTV projection in BL Taneja Block. 4 Major OTs and 2 Urology OTs were equipped with New set of Instruments, 10 Electro-surgical units Monopolar/Bipolar to obviate constant problems, 5 Laparoscopic Sets with entire range of minimal invasive instruments, Laparolift, Intra-operative Ultrasound, LASER equipment, New  Ceiling Lights with video-camera , New 6 Minor OT lights, New Operation Tables, New  ESWL Machine, Krypton Argon Laser for bloodless TURP, Lithotripter including laser, 4Harmonic Scalpel,2Ligasures, New C-Arm for PCNL, State of art Urodynamic Machine with uroflowmetry etc.
